What are red marker lamps and where are they fitted?
The red marker light marks the rear of the vehicle — it is fitted on the upper corners of the cab, side walls, frame or body. Required by law on vehicles and combinations wider than 2100 mm, so it applies to most trucks with semi-trailers, wide trailers and agricultural machines.
With or without reflector?
The reflector works independently of the LED light – passively, reflecting the headlights of other vehicles, even when the vehicle lights are off, e.g. when parked or if the electrical system fails. Some models have a reflector built into the lamp housing.
Red or clear lens?
A classic red lens is visible as a red spot even during the day. Versions with a clear lens show the LEDs only when switched on — when off, the lens is transparent or slightly smoked, often chosen by drivers who care about the look of the cab ("old school" versions, GRAPHITE collection).
Housing shapes
Square and round models are bolted to a flat surface, and some are set into a hole in the body – the hole diameter is given in the technical data. Slim versions have a low profile — they fit where space is tight, e.g. under a sun visor or on a narrow frame.
