About us

Our story, written in light

Do you remember that sound? The distinctive, slightly rough hum of a Fiat 126p engine that was the soundtrack of Polish streets at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. That is where, to the rhythm of those times, our story begins. We were a small factory shop of a state-owned giant, the Zelmot works, and our shelves were packed with parts for the cars that defined the country in those years – from the "Maluch" to the reliable "Żuk". It was an orderly world, built on the solidity of Polish engineering, but the winds of history were already bringing changes nobody expected.

The political transformation that formed the backdrop to our founding gradually showed its other face too. The Polish car brands that were the foundation of our business disappeared one after another. The ground under our feet shifted so slowly that it was hard to pinpoint a single decisive moment. In 1996, in a bold act of independence, we adopted our own brand – ZEMOT – and created the logo we still carry today. But it was only an illusion of stability. We clung to old maps while the world was already marking out completely new routes, and a dynamic company turned into a local shop that customers visited less and less often.

The real turning point came not as an epiphany but as a painful sting. We saw that our regular customers – people we had known for years – were buying online. This threat was no longer an anonymous statistic; it had real faces. That is when we understood we had to venture into the unknown. Without great expectations, without hope, but out of absolute necessity, we took our first, uncertain step into the digital world.

We entered the internet like a child entering an unfamiliar forest. Every step was a stumble and every decision a costly lesson. We invested in a sales system that did not work, spent money on ineffective advertising and struggled with technology that created chaos instead of helping. It was a time when giving up would have been easy, but we persevered and learned solely from our own mistakes. This humility and readiness to adapt have become part of our DNA.

And today? Instead of the bustle of a parts shop selling everything, we have precision and specialisation. We are specialists in vehicle and machine lighting and work almost exclusively online. We have returned to our roots, but in a completely new style – we still trust Polish suppliers, who today are world-class companies.

What are we most proud of? That we survived without losing our identity. Once, the light from our shelves lit the way for the "Maluch" on a grey road. Today, the powerful beam of our lamps cuts through the night in the fields and gives strength to modern agricultural machines. The world has changed, technology has changed, but we are still here, true to Polish quality, looking with pride to a future we light up ourselves.
