How to choose a work lamp?
A work lamp is an additional light source fitted to a machine or vehicle to light the work area: the field during night harvesting, a loading yard, the loader frame or an excavator's working zone. It does not require road approval, but an LED lamp must meet the ECE R10 electromagnetic compatibility requirements – all LED work lamps in our range meet them. Matching to the electrical system and resistance to the machine's working conditions also matter.
LED or halogen?
LED lamps give a much higher luminous flux with lower power draw from the vehicle system and need no bulb replacement throughout their service life. Bulb lamps are a simpler, cheaper option – suitable as a replacement in older tractors and machines. All our bulb work lamps use an H3 bulb.
Beam angle — flood or spot?
Flood lamps (wide beam) light a wide area around the machine: the field behind a combine, the loader working zone, a manoeuvring area in a yard. Spot lamps (narrow beam, from 4°) throw a narrow beam far ahead of the vehicle — for lighting an access road or the strip in front of the machine during night work.
IP rating
- IP66 – resistant to powerful water jets
- IP67 – resistant to temporary immersion: sufficient for standard field and construction work
- IP68 – resistant to prolonged immersion in water
- IP69K — steam and very high-pressure water washing: municipal, food-industry and special vehicles
Mounting
- Adjustable bolt-on bracket: permanent mounting with adjustable beam angle — the most popular option
- Flush mount: lamp recessed into the machine body — factory sockets in combines and tractors
- Magnetic: tool-free mounting — for portable lamps and temporary lighting
Voltage
Lamps marked 12/24V work correctly in both systems — the safest choice when buying a replacement if you are not sure of the circuit voltage.
