How to choose a replacement lens?
Lamp number and group
A lens is matched in shape and mounting spacing to a specific lamp. Read the marking on the housing or old lens (e.g. LZT, LZD, LO, LT) and compare it with the list of compatible lamps in the product description. The lamp group, e.g. HOR 68 or EMA 35, also helps.
Side and function layout
- Mounting side: in combination lamps the left and right lenses usually differ in section layout.
- Functions: check whether the lamp has a reverse section, fog section or triangular reflector — the lens must have the same layout.
- Colours: red for rear lights, amber for indicator and side, white for reverse and front.
When to replace just the lens?
When the lens is cracked, faded or dull, but the housing, reflector and wiring are fine, replacing the lens is cheaper than buying a whole lamp. When fitting, check the seal — a leaking lens lets water into the lamp.
