LED or halogen auxiliary lamp?
Differences in use
An LED lamp draws less current than a halogen lamp with a similar light output and has no bulb to replace — if the LEDs fail, the whole lamp is replaced. LED modules withstand vibration better than a filament, which matters in tractors and off-road vehicles.
What to look for
- Function: a driving lamp gives a long, narrow beam (e.g. FERVOR LUM2.51200 — 4° angle), a fog lamp a wide, low beam.
- Voltage: the models in this category work in 12 V and 24 V systems.
- Sealing: IP69K means resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water washing — useful on agricultural and construction machinery.
- Approval: for driving on public roads choose a type-approved model (E mark in the product description).
Connection
Pay attention to wire polarity — some models require plus and minus to be connected as marked. A driving lamp is switched on together with the vehicle's main beam, a fog lamp with a separate switch, in accordance with vehicle lighting regulations.
